Richard Whitworth June 15 1945 – December 8 2007 Pebble Beach – Stanley Richard Whitworth III, son of Beatrice Ann Whitworth and Stanley Richard Whitworth II, passed away after a motorcycle accident during the Toys for Tots motorcycle ride. He was born in Pasadena, CA. Richard a devoted husband, loving father, is known as a family man, a successful businessman and a motorcycle lover. He loved to ride his Harley with his friends and brothers, “The Ephesians” as well as his kids. He founded Carmel Mortgage in 1982 and later created MorSystems, a website company in 1995. He was also an active member in Rotary Club. When he joined the Ephesians and worked on his motorcycles he found his passion, enjoying the breeze hitting his face as he rode with his new found brothers. He was proud that his three children Rick Whitworth, Cheryl Whitworth-McVicar and Shelly Whitworth worked with him daily at the family businesses. His wife, Mary A Whitworth enjoyed dinners and movies with her husband and spending time with their 2 puppies. Richard is also survived by his niece Stacy Gentry, her husband Vince Gentry and their children, Katy, Kelsey, Kassie and Cody Gentry and his nephew Bill Taylor and his children Brandon and Nicholas Taylor. Cheryl Whitworth-McVicar’s husband Lochlan McVicar and Shelly Whitworth’s Fiancé Dylan Shipley also considered Richard to be like their father. Richard enjoyed riding & working on his motorcycles, being the visionary for his businesses, walking his puppies around the neighborhood, and commonly referred to himself as the King of Carmel to his friends when answering the phone. He also enjoyed helping people more than his family knew – the family is enjoying other’s stories about him that they hadn’t heard. |
